Wheat Jewelers is committed to sourcing diamonds responsibly and does not knowingly purchase or sell conflict diamonds.
Conflict diamonds, sometimes called blood diamonds, are rough diamonds used to finance armed conflict against legitimate governments. We support industry efforts designed to prevent these diamonds from entering the legitimate supply chain.
Wheat Jewelers purchases diamonds only from reputable suppliers that represent their diamonds as conflict free and obtained through legitimate sources.
Our suppliers are expected to follow applicable laws and uphold the standards established by the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme.
The Kimberley Process is an international certification system created to reduce the trade of conflict diamonds. It requires participating countries to control and certify shipments of rough diamonds.
While no international system is perfect, the Kimberley Process remains an important part of the diamond industry’s responsible sourcing framework.
Wheat Jewelers maintains a zero tolerance policy toward conflict diamonds.
Should a supplier be unable to provide appropriate assurances regarding the source of its diamonds, Wheat Jewelers reserves the right to discontinue doing business with that supplier.
Our team is happy to answer questions about the diamonds we offer and the standards followed by our suppliers.
